Robert Carlyle stars as Lachlan MacAldonich, a former Scottish rocker living in the slow lane on a farm north of Los Angeles. His whole being emanates sadness and weariness. He was big back in the day, but no-one remembers that day anymore. He drinks a lot while he does his musical podcast, alone in his room. He gets a DUI one night though and suddenly his green card is in jeopardy. He spends the rest of the movie looking at what he has become. This is not the manic insane Robert Carlyle you may recall from the movie Trainspotting.
