Just south of downtown Denver sits a fast food place that serves fish and chips and a good curry sauce. GB Fish and Chips is painted black inside like the Rolling Stone song. Not having tried the entire menu I can recommend the three pieces of deep-fried cod with fries and a side of the excellent curry sauce for dipping. The gravy-like curry cuts the grease of the fried fish, and is in fact transcendental in nature. The owner described it as Madras curry and it is almost painful to eat without something like fish to balance out the heat.
The interior of GB Fish is black and cavernous with dark rough-hewn picnic tables. Soccer and Rugby games play on the several TV screens and Brit-pop plays on the stereo. Not the Panera Bread experience folks. Working-class chow with lots of calories. No Supermodels here, although Robert Pattinson likes the place.
