In case you haven’t had enough low-budget gangster entertainment lately, here you go.
Colin Farrell stars as Marty, an alcoholic Irish writer unable to finish his screenplay. His friends Hans ( Christopher Walken) and Billy (Sam Rockwell) kidnap dogs for the reward money, even as Billy goes to acting auditions, waiting for his star to rise. One day they kidnap gangster Charlie’s dog, and the shih tzu hits the fan.
Tom Waits, as Zachariah the serial killer killer, and Harry Dean Stanton, show up to fill the screen with creepiness. Lots of bullets fly, two people are immolated, and writer Marty is up to his eyeballs in psychos. A pleasant enough way to spend two hours I guess.
